Chantara Junk Boat

Originally constructed with beautiful teak wood, The Junk Chantara was put into service in Burma near the end of the 20th century.

First sailed from the magnificent Burmese Banks, the former owner decided to move after the Tsunami of 2004. The Chantara sailed to the South, via Singapore, then up the east coast of Malaysia to enter in the Gulf of Thailand.

Since its renovation, the boat was called “Fortune”, but has since changed its name again in October 2009 to take on its Thai name, “Chantara”.

Presently, The Chantara is based in Bangrak Bay, Koh Samui, in the north of the island.

The Chantara sails inside the Gulf of Thailand. Generally, it travels around Koh Samui, to places such as Angthong Marine Park, Koh Phangan, and Koh Tao.

Group tours or private cruises are proposed by the team, who will welcome you everyday following your request.

Jungle & Waterfalls trip

The experience of this day will allow you to admire the beauty of the sea from a topview, the most beautiful places of Samui and the virgin jungle with our friend Christian, living in the island for more than 30 years and passionate about flora and fauna.

You will see some cocoa and rubber farms and a wide variety of fruit trees.

You will appreciate the wonderful lunch in a little Thai restaurant, located in the middle of the jungle as the top of the island before going to the Magic Garden or Secret Buddha Garden, or even called by the locals "Namtok Tanim". At 450m height, at the rooftop of the island, a group of beautiful rock statues are placed around a little waterfall. They all were created by Nim Thongsuh in 1976 when he was 77 years old.

You will also see, in a more authentic place of the island, the temple where the mummy monk sits in the meditation position. Another monk, well alive, will make you a lucky wristband.

Koh Madsum

Koh Samui and the other nearest islands are quite populated since a few decades. However, at the South of Koh Samui, Koh Madsum (or Koh Mat Sum) is one of the most virgin islands of this archipelago.

Yout trip will begin inside a typical thai fisherman boat during around half hour. Once arrived, you will enjoy the virgin beaches, between a clear-blue sea and a virgin jungle.

Several locations of the island will be visited to fully enjoy the peace offered by the nature. You will also experience a part of the life in a nearly-desert island.

Other activities

Koh Samui provides miscellaneous water, nature and urban activities. Bophut has several commercial centers and walking streets, ending at the South with Chaweng, the favorite places for young people to party all over the night.

At the center and the South of the island, Koh Samui reveals nearly-virgin landscapes through a dense tropical forest containing several waterfalls, lakes and typical thai villages.

Its location in the gulf of Thailand allows fishermen and divers to discover a wonderful wildlife through clear-blue waters. Several beaches are also known for their beautiful white corals.
